Review grid and gap closing
Copy this into your fork. Fill the grid honestly, pick your three lowest, and close them with active recall (explain out loud from memory), not rereading.
The honest grid
Rate yourself 1 to 5 (1 = could not explain it, 5 = could teach it). Be harsh; a 3 is a gap.
| Week | Topic | My most important idea (from memory) | Rating 1-5 |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Ground truth: latency, estimation, the tail | ||
| 2 | Storage: B-trees, LSM, indexes, transactions, sharding | ||
| 3 | Caching and the CDN | ||
| 4 | Async: queues, the log, idempotency, backpressure | ||
| 5 | Distributed systems: CAP, quorums, consensus, clocks | ||
| 6 | AI systems: inference, RAG, agents, cost | ||
| 7 | Production: observability, SLOs, limits, security, cost | ||
| 8 | Synthesis: the framework, mocks, the capstone |
My three gaps (the three lowest)
For each: the exact question I cannot answer cleanly, and how I will close it (rerun which lab, reread which day, re-explain to whom).

The three, explained (after closing them)
Write each in your own words, a few sentences, as if to a beginner, without notes.
